Long time....

I know, I know...I am neglecting my blogging duties again.

This week is a busy one for me...bowling league tonight, Hockey game (pre-season) tomorrow night and "The Drowsy Chaperone" at the Citadel on Thursday night.

Wow, I don't remember the last time I had that many events in one week, lol!!

Clothing Swaps

I am thinking of starting a twice a year clothing swap party program within my circle of friends to start and who knows, maybe it will grow more and more popular as it goes along...

Eventually I would like to run/manage a second-hand/vintage clothing and home accessories store. However, underwear and sheets would not be accepted...like eeewww! Anyhoo...we'll see how the swapping parties do :o)

Bad days

So what do you do when you have a bad day and it seems like the whole world is coming down on you for something you didn't even do?

Well...luckily I was able to vent to a friend/colleague this morning and get at least some of it off my chest, then I went and read on my lunch break and that seems to have defused my feelings as well... arghhhhh makes me angry when others accuse me of something that had nothing to do with me. Oh well, such is life some days I guess.

Summer Decor

I have been a BAD BLOGGER! I know I have been neglectful in my blogging...sorry, I will do much better from now on (slapping my own hand).

Spring....?

Ahhhh finally some nice weather that I can wear sandals in...I am so glad that Spring is finally here...or is it early summer? You never know in Alberta, ha lol!

I love the change of seasons...makes me want to take stock of things in my wardrobe and see what I can't wear anymore, what to get taken-in and what I need to round it out.

Got some nice Khaki's at The GAP, a couple of cardigans at Smart Set, a couple of tops at Ricki's, a couple of skirts at Ardenne's, a couple of dresses at Urban Planet, AND a couple pairs of "urban" shorts at Suzy Shier...A good haul if you ask me...I am pretty much set for Spring, and Summer too I suppose.

So get out there and enjoy the nice weather while you can!

New Blog

Hey not only do I have this blog, but I also started a scrapbooking blog as well...I love these things...they are so fun!

Ahhhhhh Wednesday...middle of the workweek...Although it's not my favorite day of the week, it comes close. I would have to say that Sunday is my favorite day...I think it's because I never seem to feel rushed to go somewhere, I can sleep in until at least 9am and I can do whatever I want to! And besides, Friday or Saturday would be too obvious! I am not THAT predictable!

Vanity Kills

It's amazing to me that people value their hairdo over their brain or even their life. Nothing against the actress who just lost her life, as it is very sad and I feel for her family at this time...but to refuse to wear a helmet when you are participating in a sport that you've never done or don't do very often is tempting fate at the very least. But when you are a mother with young kids, or even not so young children, it is a little bit selfish. Because of her fatal decision to not wear a helmet her two boys no longer have a mother and her husband, a wife. We as a society have to realize that although it seems that we are alone in the world sometimes, our actions don't just effect us anymore...they have a ripple effect that can possibly touch the world...as we have seen in this and several other cases.

I know there are those of you out there that say "We are adults and we can chose whether or not to wear a helmet if we want to." Yes, you can, but unfortunately we taxpayers here in Canada don't get the choice whether we want to pay to keep you on life support or not!

I know one can never predict when they are going to leave this earth helmet or not...at least you can help prevent a fatal injury...and we all know that kids do as we do more than what we say!

I welcome your views on this matter.

TGIF!

So Friday the 13th again...how lucky are we? Two back to back.

How have they been for you? They have been interesting for me...the gremlins have definately shown themselves to me. Every computerized device in the office seems to go even more wonky on those days...weird.

Well, just a few more minutes and I can leave the gremlins to their own devices!

If you are sick of Winter...raise your hand!

Okay, maybe check if there are people around first so you don't look like a nut...too late for me, however. Ha LOL!

Well, Edmonton gave Winterpeg a run for its money this weekend! Me and hubby and Bailey hibernated like black bears Yesterday and it felt great! Don't feel the effects of springing the clocks ahead at all...okay, try not to kill me yet.

I do hope that Spring will show itself soon. Although the winter really has not been that bad overall, I am so ready for it to be over...time to say hello to the grass and sunshine of Spring...come out, come out wherever you are!

RSP Season

Phew! Another one gone and over! As someone who has to work the RSP season, I thank those that got theirs done before the deadline...those that left it 'til last minute...tsk tsk tsk!

Oh well, now that it's over I can finally regain some of my sanity, unfortunately some is lost to me forever after each RSP period, more some years than others and boy did this year take some!

Hope you all survive this crazy market, and here's to a more profitable year for 2009!

Scrappin' Crazy!!

Hello all! I had a great time at a Scrapbooking party I attended over the weekend and I am absolutely ADDICTED!! I am sure my husband will send me to Scrapaholics Anonomous soon!

I now have about 3 current books I am working on and a gazillion planned, ha! LOL! I should buy stocks in a scrapbooking company or something!

I am working on two family themed books: one Antiquity Themed family album that has really old pics and the other is of my brother's family, sister's family and two of my cousin's families. Plus of course, one for the dog!

Workout Slump

Well, I survived Valentine's Day with only 2 lbs up, ha LOL! However, having Family Day off has kinda put me into a workout slump...feeling lazy all weekend, then feeling a flu coming on has killed my motivation this week...hopefully I can snap out of it in time for Saturday WI...Yeah right!! Two days...Good luck right?

Ahhhhhh Valentine's Day...Hallmark Holiday? It doesn't have to be...if you don't give into the hype. Give your valentine a gift that doesn't cost money, but is absolutely priceless...your love. Okay, now I sound like a Hallmark commercial, LOL!!

What do you have planned for that day? Date with your honey or a date with your cat? Either way, make it special in your own way and press mute when those annoying jewelry commercials bombard your tv screen...enjoy the silence!

Sorry I have been MIA for a bit...busy at work. TGIF! Friday's are the best day ever! Too bad there aren't more of them in a week, hahahahaha!

What is your Friday ritual? I usually cap off my Friday with a good hard workout then relax in front of the Telly and watch either Medium or Ghost Whisperer Episodes.

Saturday is my night to party as I am on Weight Watchers and that is my weigh-in day, so Saturday I can "cheat" a little. Been on WW for over a year and have lost 48lbs but have gained so much knowledge and kinships with other members at my Saturday morning meetings. I am only 6lbs away from my ultimate goal of 150lbs.

Well have a great weekend and will try to post sooner next time I promise!

Crazy for Crafts

Hey everyone...as you can tell from the title I love doing crafts...my current projects are 1) Crocheted Tea Cozy 2) Crocheted pillow cover (more than half done now) and 3) Abstract painting (study painting). I have also joined a couple craft kit-of-the-month clubs and am still waiting with baited breath 'til they arrive. One is an ornament crafting kit and the other is a card-making kit...that is so I can get gifts and cards done that are from the heart.

What are your favorite crafty things to do?

Snuggle Bug

That's Bailey hunkered down in her chic leopard blanket as it is cooooldd here in Edmonton, well all of Canada I am sure!

She is a five year old Schnoodle and very spoiled!

I love curling up in my old favorite sweater that my nanny made for me when the weather dips down into the cold abyss!

Shiny Things!

Hey everybody! This is my latest new outfit from "Ricki's" my absolute favorite store! I pretty much buy all my clothes there...doesn't hurt that I fit into size 8 there! Woohoo!

I do have to admit that I like shiny things, but then again, what woman doesn't? Diamonds anyone?

Pink Explosion!

Is it just me or does it seem that there is a lot of pink out there? It is like someone in heaven dropped a bottle of Pepto Bismol and it spilled all over the fashion world!! Bahahahaahaha!

It is probably due to the grim economy...the fashion world wants to brighten our day with the cheery, rosy color hoping that it will get us to shop!! Works for me!! But then again, I am a self-proclaimed Shopaholic and proud of it!!

So lets channel our feminity and go PINK!!!
